Playing with food

I was inspired by an article in a craft/art magazine (don't remember just which one now, but it was either Cloth,Paper, Scissors or Sommerset Studio) that said it was okay to play with your food. I love inspirational sayings. Here is my faux pear with a rusty pear inside. Shutter displays the inspiration : "Life is not a race - do take it slower. hear the music before the song is over"

Don't you want to be Organized????

I just love my stuff and like it better when I can have it out and not tucked away in drawers, boxes, and other containers. In this piece you will see some of my favorite things I call "Organize". Each collection of things is one more in quantity. Starting with one Monopoly Card to 12 mini candy bars. This is just the tip of the iceberg, so you might see more collections

Found Objects - nautical

Sometimes things just come together. The little guy was from a souvenir a bought years ago. The base is part of a lamp. The block was just in my stash. Some of the other pieces were from a birdhouse that collapsed. All in all - it looks like it belongs together.

Metamorphsis Monday - Inspirational Stars

I am sure I'm not the only one who has to have something and then find out that it isn't what they wanted. I got 3 of these red stars along with 3 blue stars. They were Christmas ornaments and although I used them a couple of years, they were too big and didn't really do anything for the tree. I also had one star (different style) that had "Believe" on it. Loved that star but it looked a little lonely. The Christmas ornaments had to metamorph into something else. I painted 3 a country blue and 3 a Georgia Clay red. Used a Hazelnut colored ink pad to put on some inspirational views. They are all in the bathroom and you can see them as you get out of the shower. Cute and a much better use for the stars. Be sure to stop by www.betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com for other Metamorphsis Monday sites.

Big Haired Ladies from the 70s.

Just a stroll down memory lane with my big haired ladies. I hope you enjoy them. I listed them on ebay.
