Studio Tour - Key West

Key West is a very small island, but has so many things to do. Today there was a studio tour of 6 different artists, 5 studios. I went with my friend Michelle, you met her in the last post ( http://www.thegypsypalace.blogspot.com/) and we had such fun.

The Artists on tour were John Martini, Charles Pearson and Tim Roeder, John McIntosh, Lynn Sherman and Teresa Willis. They were all different, but all inspirational.

The garden area of potters Charles Pearson and Tim Roeder.

Chalres and Tim have one of the nicest Koi environments that I've ever seen. A bonus on top of seeing their studio.

Bad lighting, but Michelle and I with a sculpture from John McIntosh. So very much inspiration and a we had a great visit with John.

I've found a new blog

Actually I didn't find it, it was pointed out to me. My very talented friend, Michelle, has started a blog and a page on facebook. She takes creativity to a new level and is quite an inspiration to me. These pictures were taken last year at the Schooner Wharf art show. It's coming up again, March 3, 2012. Mark your calendar.

Somethings defy an explanation. Little Pigs, big pig, farmer, box... then you have a finished piece.

Cloth Paper Scissors Challenge - Mini Houses

My little house is 2nd row, 3rd from the left,

Several months ago I spotted a challenge in Cloth Paper Scissrs. It was for creating mini houses. Well, I like mini stuff and I like mixed media art. Sounded great. After getting a very late start, and reading the instructions incorrectly, I entered the challenge on the very last day I could enter it. There were hundreds already listed so I didn't think I had much of a chance. I was amazed when I saw that my little house was selected. They selected 95 houses for their tiny little village and mine was one of them.

Rick Worth's Boot Camp

A few weeks ago I attended Rick Worth's Boot Camp.   It's a two-hour camp (this one was for women) where you paint a finished painting in two hours.  You use house paint in primary colors plus black and white.   He has a great approach, is funny, and very instructional.    It is certainly a fun time.
