Collages and mini-project

This little picture was used in my fancy bedroom miniature scene. It is less than 2 x 3 inches.

It was the perfect picture for my fancy bedroom scene.

Here it is in its original size (8 1/2 x 11). This piece was done in 2009 This piece was done to accompany it. I want to shrink it down for an art gallery scene I have rumbling around in my brain.

I love collage. It is fun using all those interesting pictures/scenes/sayings that I don't want to toss out.

Inspiration from Lisa Kaus - Collage

I've seen Lisa Kaus's work in several magazines including Somerset Studios. I am way too far from her studio in Oregon (I'm in Key West) to take one of her classes. I know from the articles that she uses wax and wax is certainly not a good option in the sub tropics. It doesn't set up. I decided I would just take inspiration and use my own sealers. She uses rather large embellishments, I prefer smaller ones. She is paler colors and I love BRIGHT colors. The Army collage was done for my Son.

Clock

I love clocks, pictures of clocks, and all things associated with clocks. Thought I would put a clock in a cigar box. I got the idea from a magazine, Sommerset Studio.

Latest project - Tribute to my Mom

This is a piece dedicated to my Mom. She recently celebrated her 90th Birthday. This is a picture of her in her early 20s and display all the hearts as a symbol to how much she is loved.

Weekend of crafting

In mid October I took a long weekend in St. Louis. Purpose of the trip was to visit my sister-in-law and to got to a miniature show. My sister-in-law loves to do crafts so we did some collages, some artists trading cards and a couple projects found in Somerset Studios. Thought I would share some pictures.

Collage

Here is my latest series of collages. They pay tribute to the chicken. If you know about Key West, where I live, you know that chickens are always in the news. Some love them; some not so much. Canvas size is 3 x 4 inches.
